Watch This Face

Models are having a moment right now. Not since the Supers of the 1990s has there been such a focus on the faces gracing the runways. Of course, it helps that we get to see their every move documented across social media. Who isn’t fascinated by the unlikely friendship between Cara and Kendall (or ‘CaKe as they have dubbed themselves)? And then of course there’s Gigi, Karlie and Martha, all proud member’s of Taylor Swift’s ‘Squad.’

Away from the gossip columns (for now), we’re fired up about two faces we think are set to be HUGE in 2016. First up, is Argentinian Mica Arganaraz, who has walked for Alexander Wang and Givenchy (among others) and been spotted in countless fashion mag editorials. We can’t really imagine Mica hanging out with Taylor et al- she’s a bit too cool for daft monikers and her artsy Instagram posts suggest she’s more than just a pretty face. But it’s her hair that’s got us completely obsessed; think Chrissie Hynde’s fringe teamed with a shaggy Ramones cut and set off with her natural (amazing) curls. It’s modern, sexy and seriously touchable and she’s our top tip for texture inspiration this Spring.

On the guy front, there’s a new pin up in town. Lucky Blue Smith is every bit as cool as his name suggests – at least, his 2 million Instagram followers seem to think so. A model since the age of 12, 17-year-old Lucky hails from Utah in the US and already has campaigns for Tom Ford and CK One under his belt. With his pouty lips and peroxide hair, Lucky is also a drummer in The Atomics, a band made up of himself and his three (equally gorgeous) sisters. A quick search on Google reveals him to be ‘modelling’s new It boy’ and we think his striking look is set to have a big influence on male hair trends this season…
