CLIPSO YOUNG SUPERSTAR AWARDS 2012

Education is an area that we take very seriously and it’s the younger generation of upcoming talented hairdressers who are recognised as the continued future success of the Clipso group. Each year, the Clipso Young Superstars awards put assistants and trainees against one another, and once again the 2012 competition was a huge success.

The competition was compered by Harriette Calvert who is a Hair Designer at Clipso Watford. The audience and judges were entertained by the exceptional talents of Clipso trainees from first to third year level each presenting a ‘complete look’ on a model, with the second and third years each giving a two minute presentation to explain their concept, technique and over all look, including use of mood boards.

The judging panel for the 2012 competition was British Hairdresser of the Year and multiple award winning, Andrew Collinge, TIGI’s Global Creative Director, Nick Irwin, who has worked with a whole host of top photographers, renowned models, and magazine editors and Samantha Grocutt, Managing Director of Essence PR.

Each winner was presented with £150 worth of gift vouchers and a certificate.

The winners included:

First Year winner – Bethany Hunt, Clipso Watford (Award presented by Samantha Grocutt)

First Year runner up – Chelsie Flynn, Clipso St Albans

Second Year winner – Georgina Calvert, Clipso Watford (Award presented by Nick Irwin)

Julia Webb, Senior Educator of the Clipso training academy commented “I am so proud of our entire first, second and third year apprentices, this year the level of work was of the highest standards. At Clipso we’re very proactive when it comes to education as we know these youngsters are the future of the salon group and I am in charge of everyone’s training within our academy. After today’s Young Superstar Awards I can safely say the future looks very bright for Clipso and I know each of the assistants will excel in all areas.”

Lindsay Calvert, Managing Director of the Clipso Salon group, commented, “I just want to say a big well done to all the apprentices who took part and I want to congratulate all of the winners, everyone’s work was amazing.
