CLIPSO WATFORD HAIRDRESSER WINS AWARD FOR CHARITABLE WORK

Tia Bishop who works at our Watford salon recently won an award for her outstanding charitable work for the Hope for Children. Tia was presented with her award by celebrity television hairdresser and Fellowship for British Hairdressing President, Errol Douglas at the Fellowship for British Hairdressing Luncheon and Awards ceremony. The event took place at The Dorchester Hotel in London on Monday 2nd December.

Tia, a Master Hair Consultant won the award for her pure dedication and determination to raise awareness and money for the Hope for Children charity, by sacrificing the things she loves and taking on almighty challenges over one year. Tia set up her Challenge 30 to raise £5,000 for Hope for Children, her aim was to complete 30 crazy challenges at the age of 30. Tia began the challenges in May 2012 and raised £4,585.34 by May 2013 for the charity. Tia is still collecting outstanding money, which will push her past her £5000 goal.

Hope for Children (HOPE) is a UK based charity which works towards a world where children’s rights are realised and they can reach their full potential. They actively identify disadvantaged children and communities by working with local partners.

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing Luncheon and Awards is one of the most popular events in the hairdressing industry calendar and commenced with a champagne reception before guests were taken into a lavishly presented dining room to enjoy a Christmas lunch and awards ceremony. The Fellowship for British Hairdressing was founded over 50 years ago and is run by members, it’s an invitation only body with top hairdressers in the hair world as members, they uphold the highest professional standards, and believe in life-long training and education for all members.

“I can’t believe I won and I am extremely proud to be given the award for the work I undertook for the Hope for Children, which is an amazing charity. The things I completed and sacrificed for one year at the age of 30 was very challenging but the money I raised was worth it and to be recognised with an award is a great feeling,” explains Tia Bishop, Master Hair Consultant at Clispo Watford.
